The Beheading of St John the Baptist

October 24, 2007

In art, as in everything else in life, it is important to look back as we look ahead. As contributors and readers of Plumb, we are striving to create new art. And this blog is to be a place to fertilize that growth. So as we create, I also want to share art from history to inspire us.

Below is the painting called, “The Beheading of St John the Baptist” painted by Caravaggio. To learn more about this piece, read here.

Taking the Wheel

October 10, 2007

Hi everyone,
In an effort to keep this site more current and up-to-date, I have agreed to take the wheel of this site as we transverse the information superhighway.
My hope is to keep people informed of not only Plumb, but other art activities in Canada. So if you come across an interesting article, event, or piece of art online, then let me know so then I can share it with everyone else.

"Shadow" coming soon

March 8, 2007

For any of you that saw the recent ad in the Georgia Straight (right), we are indeed preparing our next issue, “Shadow”, which promises to be our most dynamic issue yet. John Hoben has a beautifully crafted and thoughtful essay that looks at God as Shadow, and artwork and photographs by Jared Goertzen, Andrea Chamberlain, Justin Keitch, and Bev Ellis, are sure to inspire and intrigue. And Tom and John, our odd-couple characters from “Two in a Pew,” argue (as usual) about church fashion.

Order copies for your church or group today! We also have back copies of our previous issues available. Email plumbplumb@gmail.com.
